The Story: From Coaching Models to a Comprehensive Framework

As I reflected on building my coaching and advisory business, I found myself grappling with a common industry approach. Many successful businesses in this space leverage people through agency-type models and intellectual property through key theories. However, for my clients—founder/CEOs of high-growth businesses with 50-500 employees—this traditional model didn't quite fit.

Inspired by thought leaders like Michael Bungay Stanier, I began to craft my own approach. Initially, I focused on two key elements: clarity and leverage. "Clarity and leverage are what constitutes effective entrepreneurship," became my mantra. I was drawn to the term "effective," echoing the wisdom of management guru Peter Drucker and distinguishing my approach from the "hustle culture" prevalent in some coaching circles.

But something was missing. As I delved deeper into the needs of my clients and reflected on my own entrepreneurial journey, I realized there was a more fundamental element at play. That's when "resilience" entered the picture, completing the Effective Entrepreneurship framework. Suddenly, everything clicked into place.

The Insight: The Three Pillars of Effective Entrepreneurship

The Effective Entrepreneurship framework rests on three essential pillars:

1. Clarity: This is about crystallizing your vision, principles, and goals. It's the foundation upon which all else is built.

2. Leverage: Once clarity is established, leverage is about maximizing impact through your team, capital, systems, and brand.

3. Resilience: This final pillar ensures sustainability, focusing on managing time, energy, and identity.

This framework provides a comprehensive approach to entrepreneurship that goes beyond mere performance metrics. It acknowledges the multifaceted nature of building and sustaining a successful business, emphasizing not just what you do, but how you do it and how you maintain it over time.
