The Catalyst Approach

Most organizations respond to complexity with more effort — more speed, more meetings, more pressure. That makes the problem worse. We work differently: we don't look for the next task, we look for the leverage point that moves the entire system. Diagnosis before solution. Clarity before activity. Our work is a performance multiplier — not a band-aid. We're not called in when the child has fallen in the well, but when the decisions are being made that determine whether it will. We work at the intersection of people, capital, and strategy — on three levels that never function separately: the leader, the team, and the company. Around 80% of our mandates come through referral — mostly from investors who know we understand business, not just people.

Every collaboration begins with the person who shapes the organization. Not with the org chart, not with strategy - with the person who decides. How does this person think? What patterns drive their decisions? What captures their attention without them realizing it? In almost every mandate we see that the personal growth of the leader is the actual bottleneck - for everything that comes after. Business problems often have personal roots. Personal issues constrain business decisions. That's why we start here, directly and honestly. We tolerate tension and address what others won't say.

The central question: What mindset are you bringing into this complex environment -

and does that mindset take you where you want to go?

The Self

The Team

Leadership works through people. The critical question: Does the environment multiply the leader's effectiveness - or does it drain it? We work systematically through the key positions and relationships. Who is in the right seat, who isn't? Which personnel decision has been postponed for months? Where is honest feedback missing because no one dares to push back? Especially in isolated leadership positions, clarity erodes gradually.

We fill that gap - as a counterpart who isn't part of the system and whose job doesn't depend on what's convenient in the moment. Many of the most impactful changes we drive are team changes that were long overdue.

The Business

On the third level, we work where strategy, capital, and organization intersect. The big questions: Where is the company headed? Does the financing logic align? How do you lead a board? How do you build an organization that can carry the next growth phase? What sets us apart from classical strategy consultants: we operate without a large apparatus - no project teams, no bloated workstreams. What sets us apart from coaches: we understand capital structures, M&A logic, and board dynamics from our own experience as investor and CFO - not from textbooks. This combination of business depth and the ability to navigate the human side is what defines our work.

Where we come into play

Typical situations where our mandates arise: After a transaction, when so many challenges land on the table at once that the board can't handle them alone - and some issues shouldn't be discussed at board level anyway. When an investor senses that a team isn't developing the momentum the case requires. When a new leadership team needs to quickly gain clarity after a transaction - about collaboration, business priorities, and their own mindset as leaders.

Or simply: when a leader faces decisions that can't be delegated and needs someone to think alongside them, without their own agenda.

The Process

We start with the person who truly decides. In the first step, we map out the entire universe of issues - challenges, opportunities, open questions, personal and business alike. Then we search for causal connections. Out of typically 10–15 issues, most are symptoms. We find the two or three root causes that control the entire system - and we work there. This isn't a quick fix. It's the opposite: work at the root, where real impact happens.

To uncover blind spots, we conduct a 360-degree review - with the key people in the client's environment. What do others see that the client doesn't see themselves? Especially those at the very top often stop receiving the feedback they need.

From there, the mandate unfolds. Often we bring in individual executives or the entire leadership team. For larger organizations, we assemble coaching teams from our network, develop internal academies, and facilitate offsites - all from one source, with a consistent view of the overall dynamics.

There are no annual packages. We work month by month. Every month has to be worth it - for the client, not for us. And when we realize the major leverage points have been addressed, we're the first to recommend a pause.
